A Soldier Stationed Far From Home

A Soldier’s “Dear John” Revenge

A soldier stationed overseas received a “Dear John” letter from his girlfriend back home.

It read:

Dear Dave,
I can no longer continue our relationship. The distance is too much. I must admit I’ve cheated twice while you’ve been gone, and it’s not fair to either of us.
I’m sorry. Please return the picture of me that I sent you.
Love, Kim.

Heartbroken—but creative—Dave asked his fellow soldiers for any photos they could spare: girlfriends, sisters, exes, cousins, aunts… anyone.

He mailed Kim an envelope containing 43 photos of various women.

Along with a note:

Dear Kim,
I’m terribly sorry, but I can’t remember which one you are.
Please take your picture from the pile and send the rest back.
Take care, Dave.

The Helicopter Experiment

Three soldiers, freshly discharged from the army, decided to celebrate with a helicopter ride.

One soldier peeled a banana and wondered,

“If I throw this peel out, do you think we’ll see it land?”

He tossed it. They watched. Nothing.

Another soldier grabbed a rock.

“This is bigger. We’ll definitely see this one land.”

Out it went. Still nothing.

The third soldier pulled out a grenade, yanked the pin, and tossed it out the door.

“We’ll definitely see this one.”

They watched.
Still nothing.

Later, walking home, they saw a little girl crying.

“What’s wrong?” they asked.

“I slipped on a banana peel that came out of nowhere!”

They explained and walked on—until they found a boy holding his head.
