At first I tried ignoring them, but they just kept piling up. So now every time I see one, I grab a pen, write things like “RTS,” “Return to Sender,” or “She ran off in 2013” and drop them back into the outgoing mail.
I have no idea if this actually does anything on the postal service side, but it makes me feel like I’m at least doing something instead of just throwing them away.
This has been a recurring thing for months now. At this point I’m basically running a customer service department for people who moved out years ago.
