DIY Champagne Wall Clock
Materials
10 plastic champagne flutes
1 large piece of sturdy cardboard (24 inches in diameter)
1 clock mechanism kit
Gold or silver spray paint
Strong adhesive glue
Utility knife
Ruler and pencil
Wall mounting hardware
Directions
Begin by cutting the cardboard into a perfect circle with a diameter of 24 inches. This will serve as the base of your clock.
Spray paint the cardboard base in gold or silver and allow it to dry completely.
Arrange the plastic champagne flutes around the perimeter of the cardboard circle, spacing them evenly to represent each hour on a clock.
Once satisfied with the arrangement, use strong adhesive glue to attach the base of each champagne flute to the cardboard.
Allow the glue to dry thoroughly before proceeding to ensure the flutes are securely attached.
Install the clock mechanism in the center of the cardboard. Follow the instructions provided with your clock kit for correct placement.
Use the utility knife to carefully cut a small hole in the center of the cardboard for the clock hands to go through.
Attach the clock hands to the mechanism, setting them to indicate the correct time.
Secure wall mounting hardware to the back of the cardboard, ensuring it can support the weight of the clock.
Mount the clock on your desired wall, making sure it is level.
Variations & Tips
For a personalized touch, consider painting the plastic champagne flutes in different colors or using metallic paint to match your interior design theme. You can also experiment with the size of the cardboard base to suit the space where you plan to hang the clock. Adding embellishments like rhinestones or small faux flowers inside the flutes can elevate the design further. If you’re feeling adventurous, try using mirrored acrylic as a base instead of cardboard for a more polished look.
