There’s a whole stack of cash laid out on her bed like it’s nothing. I’m talking actual piles of bills just sitting there out in the open like we’re in some movie. And the worst part? She has Alzheimer’s. She barely remembers what she had for breakfast, but somehow there’s all this money just casually sitting there like it’s safe.
So I’m standing there thinking, how is this even okay? Anyone could walk in and take it. A neighbor, a random visitor, literally anyone. And she wouldn’t even realize it’s gone. But when I bring it up, suddenly I’m the problem. I’m the one “overreacting” for pointing out that leaving stacks of cash around when you can’t even remember things properly is a terrible idea.
Honestly it pissed me off more than it should have. Because everyone wants to act like it’s fine until something actually happens. Then they’ll start asking questions like it wasn’t obvious from the start. I’m the only one seeing this situation for what it is while everyone else just shrugs it off like, yeah sure, let’s just leave money lying around and hope nothing goes wrong. Makes no sense.
