What is this white stuff that comes out of the chicken when I bake it? It’s NOT fat! Edited to add that no seasoning can be added since this chicken is for my finicky cat. It’s from Costco and supposingly is organic. The white substance is rubbery!!
- It’s the same kind of protein that leaks out of your burger patties and sticks to the sides, making that gorgeous brown crust. It’s absolutely harmless. I cook it down to crumbles and use it in drippings for gravy.
