I walked into McDonald’s, saw that soda machine with a paper sign taped over it saying “no refills,”

and honestly it looked like a joke. Same machine, still on, cups sitting there like always. Nothing actually changed except a wrinkled piece of paper.

So I ignored it. Filled my cup, took my drink, went back for another like I’ve done a hundred times. If you’re gonna leave it self-serve and fully working, I’m going to use it like it’s meant to be used.

Employee comes out pointing at the sign like I just broke some serious rule, telling me refills are banned now. I told them straight up, if you don’t want refills, turn the machine off or move it. Don’t expect people to suddenly rewire their brain because you taped up a note.

They stayed posted up next to the machine after that like I was going to come back for a third round. I still finished my refill and walked out. If you’re charging the same and giving less, I’m not playing along just because you wrote it down and called it policy.
