Is a 10% tip on a $600 brunch actually rude, or is tipping culture just out of control?

We went out for brunch and ended up with a $600 bill. We left $60, thinking that was reasonable.

At first, everything seemed normal, but when the server saw the receipt, her mood shifted. The big smiles vanished. She didn’t say anything, but the disappointment was obvious.

It made us pause and second-guess ourselves. We weren’t trying to be cheap—it was simply what we could manage at the time.
