I’ve been inside the Apple store for four hours straight trying to buy this brand new iPhone 17, and I’m still standing here being told it’s over $1,000.

I literally just traded in my iPhone 13 on top of that, handed it over, watched them take it, and somehow the price is still sitting there like nothing changed.

Like you would think the phone would be less than $1,000 after a trade in, that’s the whole point of doing it, but nope. They barely take anything off and just keep the number high like it’s completely normal.

I’m looking at the screen thinking there’s no way this is real, because how does giving them a whole phone not even bring it under a thousand. Nobody working there even reacts like it’s crazy, they just repeat the price like it makes perfect sense.

Apple does not give a fuck, and they’re still charging so much money for these iPhones because they know people will pay it anyway. It’s like the entire system is built for you to just accept getting rinsed and move on.

And I don’t even understand how people are able to afford them, because there’s no way this feels reasonable standing here after four hours. I’m just stuck here staring at a price that makes no sense after doing exactly what they tell you to do.
